An introduction to material craft through the versatile and culturally significant medium of bamboo. A semester-long class for kids age 9-12. Units include: lantern craft, modeling animalia, kites, sound and music, architecture. Through the creation of a portfolio of smaller works and a larger group project students will gain basic tool handling skills and a wide perspective on the limitless possibilities when mind meets material!
