WHAT WERE YOU DOING LAST FRIDAY AT 4 O’CLOCK?

What exactly were you doing? Can’t remember? Maybe you can recall something that came before or after that moment –perhaps a few hours before, or maybe a day or two later– that might have been related to it.

Every action we perform, even the act of breathing, has connections with the past and the future, as well as connections in our memory and imagination. We don’t usually stop to consider the elaborate web of people, materials, processes, ideas, experiences and so forth that lead up to and extend from every action, but doing so always reveals connections we hardly knew were there. It also has the pleasant side effect of endowing each moment of the day with greater value.

LOLI (‘Looking Out + Looking In’) is an online creative project that empowers everyone to turn this kind of daydreaming into a work of art. Search engines are used to locate images which convey different nodes in the “web” of your action, whether in the past or future, or in the memory or imagination. Through a combination of “story-boarding”, image search, and composition, a collage takes form that begins to convey the astounding complexity of this web and its mysterious integrity.

LOLI IS IN THE FINAL STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT…PLEASE COME BACK SOON!
